During May the Trust met with several of the High Commissioners from Commonwealth countries that are to be connected by England's new Commonwealth Walkway along Pall Mall and the Strand in London.
All the High Commissioners were very positive about the new links and new Commonwealth Walkway markers will be installed outside the High Commissions in the near future.
The Trust met with His Excellency Alexander Downer, HC for Australia; Her Excellency Winnie Kiap, HC for Papua New Guinea; His Excellency The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, HC for New Zealand; His Excellency Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha, HC for India; Her Excellency Nomatemba Tambo, HC for South Africa; and His Excellency Euripides L Evriviades HC for Cyprus.
The Trust will seek further audiences with the HC's for Nigeria and Uganda who are also connected by the new Walkway. Once agreed all the HC's will be marked with markers and the new route declared formally open sometime in 2019.
The markers have been kindly paid for by The Eranda Rothschild Foundation and the Trust are extremely grateful to Sir Evelyn de Rothschild for this support.
