The Ascension Island Commonwealth Walkway, which was launched last month, is already being used by people locally to help raise money for charity.
The walk on 27th November 2016 is in aid of Breast Cancer and any money raised will be given to The Cancer Awareness Fund in St. Helena.
Medals & Certificates have been arranged for all - whether people do the whole walk or 'what your body allows'.
To take part in the walk, meet at the Administrator’s Office, the start of the Commonwealth Walkway, on Ascension at 9:00 a.m. for start of 9:30 a.m.
From the Administrator’s Office the walk takes in the Cemetery, Museum, Fort Hayes, Pierhead Office, Turtle Ponds, Jubilee View, Church, Bicentenary Park and the Exiles Club before returning to the Administrator’s Office where there will be presentations and refreshments.
Participants are invited to bring a small plate of eats or a packet of crisps/biscuits towards the refreshment table. All ages are welcome. Call Cheryl on 66147 for more information and here.
The Trust is delighted that the Ascension Commonwealth Walkway is not only inspiring a more active community but also helping raid causes. We hope the event goes well.
